ACM THE NEW MERIDIAN HEAVY DUTY BUOY
8 November 2010
ACM have recently developed The New Meridian Heavy Duty Buoy, which incorporates a polyethylene foam sandwich construction. This makes the buoy much stronger than rival products. The buoy also has an adjustable ballasting system that allows for easy change in location or chain size. Due to The Meridian Heavy Duty Buoy's soft riding performance it is ideal for use in scientific applications such as data collection and monitoring.
The Tri-Nav buoy has a 1000mm(1m) focal plane and is commonly used in rivers and harbours. Nonetheless this buoy is able to with-stand cyclone or hurricane weather conditions. Tri-Nav buoys are rotationally moulded out of UV stabilised polyethylene and are polystyrene filled for reserve buoyancy. This buoy is moulded with flat sides, enabling easy attachment of signage. Another great advantage of investing in buoys made out of polyethylene is that they have a high resistance to chemicals and marine growth.
Both the Meridian Heavy Duty and Tri-Nav buoys require virtually no maintenance making them very cost effective.
On the 21st of October ACM loaded its first shipment of Mooring and Navigation Buoys for export to the Fendercare Supply Base in Singapore. This shipment consisted of SEA1000 and SEA2000 mooring buoy modules. The modular units can be configured as stand alone buoys of 1000Kg or 2000Kg buoyancy or coupled together to make buoys from 3000kgs to 6000kgs. Tested and proof loaded tie bars of multiple lengths to suit any configuration were also sent.
