sMRT SOS Dan Buoy with waterproof case, nominated for DAME awards 2014

Australian companies are sure to impress at this year’s 2014 Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) in Amsterdam – the world’s largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry.

CEO MaryAnne Edwards said “AIMEX congratulate all the Australian companies that have entered the DAME Design awards this year, showing the Australian innovative culture and the determination of Australian marine businesses to provide the marine market with new ideas and products. We are very excited to hear that Cabo Sunglass of Barz Optics and sMRT SOS Dan Buoy of SOS Marine has been nominated by the jury for the DAME Award 2014. ”

The Australian pavilion also includes a number of first time exhibitors who will be showcasing products that emphasise the innovation, skills, expertise and quality that have made the Australian marine sector a key global player.

Barnaclerid, a new comer to METS, will be promoting their electronic computerised copper electrode anti fouling system that prevents barnacle growth on your boat’s hull and submerged running gear shafts and props, by creating an invisible copper ion cloud under the vessel creating an environment preventing barnacles from attaching to your Hull. Barnaclerid is an Australian designed and manufactured electronic copper Ion anti fouling system, with proven results.

Another first at METS is Chapman Navigation.  Chapman Navigation is the manufacturer of a New Generation Magnetic Compass that delivers many benefits to mariners, naval architects and boat operators. The Chapman Compass is particularly suited to motor launches and work boats. This easy to read and intuitive compass can be viewed from above and below. Significantly, the versatile design allows the compass to be mounted overhead, freeing up the area in front of the wheel for other uses.

After a very successful show at Monaco and IBEX, Arctic Steel will be showcasing the highest quality cast 2205 stainless steel marine engine water strainers available. They offer a range of strainer sizes together with associated fittings to install and connect to your vessel.  Australian designed, Arctic Steel water strainers are sold around the world through our distribution network.

Many Australian companies exhibiting at METS will be looking to further develop their distributor network in Europe.

To celebrate and promote Australian businesses further, AIMEX will be hosting ‘The Australian Outback Party’ again at METS and given the fact Australian’s know how to party this will be an event not to be missed.Australian businesses exhibiting at METS include  Adit Marine, AMI Marine, AirBerth Boat Lifts, Arctic Steel, Aqualuma LED Lighting, Barz Optics, Barnaclerid, Australian Caravan & Marine Barbecues, Chapman Navigation, Coursemaster Autopilots, GME, Greencorp Marine, Hydrive Engineering,Jacobs Ladder Boating,Magnum Top Gear, Muirs, Palm Products, Polyflex Group, PowerDive, Rainman Desalination, Ronstan International, SOS Marine, Superior Jetties, TMQ International, Vuplex and VEEM (see below listings for exhibiting company details).
