Designed by Australia’s iconic Riviera, Belize Motoryachts was always confident the classically inspired 54 Daybridge would stand out in a bay of the most modern luxury pleasure yachts in the world.

And she has in fact done exactly that – the Belize 54’s noble and nostalgic design struck an immediate chord with judges in the World Yachts Trophies awards at 2014 Cannes International Yachting Festival, where she was named as just one of three finalists in the ‘highest achievement’ category for vessels her size.

Riviera chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst said the World Yachts Trophies awards, organised by French publishing group Lux Media Group, is considered to be one of the most highly esteemed awards of its kind in the global marine industry.

“Being recognised amongst a select few of the highest achievers at such a prestigious awards ceremony certainly reflects our relentless pursuit of perfection,” said Mr Longhurst.

“Amid much larger and far more futuristic yachts, the Belize 54 held her own in the eyes of an international jury which included the editors-in-chief of Yachts & Boats, Yachts Russia, Yachts Emirates, Yachts Croatia, Yachts Lebanon, Yachts Qatar and Invictus Magazine.”

The World Yacht Trophies awards ceremony, at ‘la Croisette’, is considered one of the highlight events of the Cannes Yachting Festival and this year’s gala ceremony attracted 700 of the most influential people in the yachting world.

The judges said the Belize 54 ‘made herself known from the very moment she arrived’ for her European premiere at Cannes, adding she is the ‘epitome of the flybridge boat’ and praising her sea-keeping abilities.

“In short, it is hard not to be ecstatic about the Belize 54,” the awards ceremony heard.

The Belize 54 is a clever blend of classical charm, state-of-the-art technology and a high-performance hull is squarely targeted at those who appreciate timeless tradition, individuality, class and refined character, as well as serious sea-keeping performance.

The Belize 54 Daybridge is being showcased at major boating exhibitions around the globe – including Auckland (New Zealand), Barcelona (Spain), Annapolis (Maryland, USA) and Fort Lauderdale (Florida, USA).

“We are very proud of the Belize 54’s success and we look forward to showcasing alongside our latest Riviera models around the globe throughout the next few months,” said Mr Longhurst.

“The 54 Daybridge genuinely does have the ability to transfix an entire bay of modern craft when she glides in – and she has an impeccable blue water pedigree that is proven to handle the tough Australian offshore conditions,” said Mr Longhurst.

“Riviera has for a very long time been popular around the world and now Belize is rapidly gaining the same international reputation and recognition,” he said.

The Belize 54 Daybridge – which is also offered as a Sedan – is a three stateroom/two bathroom design with full beam master stateroom and two helm stations – a delicate balance of European charisma and Australian practicality and incorporating sophisticated styling, palatial appointments, clever storage concepts and ultramodern technology.
