Another great addition to the ASMEX line up is the newly appointed General Manager of Benetti Asia, who will be a guest speaker at the ASMEX conference coming up May 21-23 at Sanctuary Cove.

Peter Mahony is directly managing sales throughout the region, responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction levels and heading up after sales and marketing development to reinforce and build the Benetti Group’s preeminent presence across APAC.

From the United Kingdom, Peter has more than 30 years’ experience in marketing and sales throughout Europe and in Asia. With a solid background in mechanical engineering Peter started his career in yacht manufacturing and sales with the UK’s largest boat builder, where he excelled to become sales director for their largest retail distributor. Peter became involved in developing and managing the strategy for a focused approach to superyacht sales.

In 2008 he moved and took the lead role in the launch and ongoing sales of a full range of production superyachts for one of the world’s largest producers. In 2013 an exciting opportunity arose to move to Asia and apply his extensive experience to build up the firm’s Asian presence, market share and a strong regional sales network.

With Asia being a key focus for many Australian businesses, delegates will be keen to hear from Peter about his initial perceptions of the region and his thoughts on Australia.

His topic “The Value of Alliances in a Global Market” is particularly relevant with many international companies having recently developed alliances with key Australian companies in the commercial defence sector and AIMEX is very conscious of alliances currently being formed in the Superyacht and manufacturing sectors.

Richard Chapman President of AIMEX stated, “Whether it be in the export, superyacht or commercial sector the development of alliances to win work, add skills and expertise or simply expand the scope of a business is becoming an important consideration for any business in Australia or globally”.

Developing alliances is very relevant and sure to get the attention of all at the conference.  A key benefit of ASMEX is also the ability to network with key industry stakeholders over the period of the conference.  It is pertinent to note that many alliances have developed between Australian and global businesses as a result of meeting at ASMEX.
