Lightwave Yachts reputation for builders of exceptional catamarans will be showcased at an official launching event of the new model Lightwave 45 Maestro, at Raby Bay Harbour pontoon on Saturday 9 August at 11.30am.

By making some innovative modifications to their 45 model, the Lightwave team has created a first – a 45 foot catamaran with a full width, full height master cabin forward with island queen bed on the bridgedeck level without compromising her great looks or sailing performance.

Managing Director & Builder of Lightwave Catamarans explained the new Maestro model is an option to accompany the successful Lightwave 45 Grande.  “The Lightwave 45 Maestro will revolutionize the cruising catamaran industry and has re-defined the ‘big cruising cat’ market segment. We have been able to achieve a layout option, that up to now has been deemed impossible in the sub 50 foot market”.

“Suddenly it is completely achievable for a couple to own a full-time live aboard blue water sailing cat. And being only 45 feet long, boat handling is managed well, berthing costs are less, running and ownership costs reduced and the purchase price brings this lifestyle into rest of so many more when compared to larger vessels with similar accommodation and facilities”  explains Roger.

Custom built for local charter operator, and second time Lightwave owner, Wayne Lamb of Robinson Cruises, the Lightwave 45 Maestro, Axis Vitae, will be officially launched by Redlands Mayor Karen Williams.

Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the launch of Robinson Cruises new Lightwave 45 Maestro showed the confidence in the local tourism industry.

“This new vessel represents a significant investment from Robinson Cruises, showing the confidence that exists in the local tourism industry” she said.

Wayne Lamb said although the company already operated sailing charters, the growing tourism market meant a larger yacht was needed to cater for demand.  Axis Vitae, which translates to “centre of life”, means the Redlands now have the largest offering of charter catamarans in South East Queensland.

“The Redlands is positioned at the centre point for over two million Queenslanders who are within an easy drive. Local day trippers celebrating special occasions together with their visiting friends and relatives are a key market segment for us,” he said.

“The islands of the Redlands, with their cultural heritage and stunning visual beauty are so easily accessed from Raby Bay. Where else in the world can you sail with dolphins, swim at pristine sandy beaches, feast on bush tucker and walk through native bushland in the same day and all this is within 45 min drive from the CBD of a Capital city?

“Additionally, having such a large business community so close by makes the Redlands ideally located for hosting unique corporate functions and team building events.”

The launch event will be hosted by Lightwave Yachts Group (Australia) and Robinson Cruises.
