Taree boat builder, Steber International has had another successful foray to the Sydney International
Boat Show culminating in the announcement of four new boat orders.

The new vessels, a 34ftr, two 38s and a 52, are for a mix of commercial and private party clients.
“In addition, the Steber 38 Commercial, which formed the centrepiece of this year’s display, created
plenty of interest and has led to a series of demonstration trials, which could see further sales”,
according to enthusiastic general manager, Alan Steber.

“We also fielded visits from several government departments, existing and past owners, as well as a
number of apprenticeship inquiries.
“Steber’s had the only commercial boat display this year and we noted the growing number of
imported boats.
“We hope that they (boat importers) provide apprenticeships and service personnel as a followup to
any purchases and don’t rely on Australian manufacturers to cover any service gaps”, Mr Steber
said.

He added that Steber International is looking at its own apprentice intake in conjunction with
upcoming orders for new vessels and refits.
In addition, the company is seeking to employ two additional staff – a Leading Laminator
experienced in gelcoating and chopper gun operation, and several qualified shipwright/boatbuilders
to work in the fitout construction area on new vessels as well as boat refits.
