    <title>COUNTDOWN TO FIRST EVER AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL MARINE CONFERENCE</title>
    <description>Marine 13, the first ever Australian international conference and exhibition for boating is now less than 12 months away.
President of the Boating Industries Alliance Australia (BIAA) Darren Vaux said that the recently announced partnership supported by the NSW government was the final tick to enable Sydney to host this major international event.
&amp;ldquo;We&amp;rsquo;ve wrapped existing marina and marine safety conferences into Marine13 and added a recreational boating stream. So we have finally created a single platform to drive forward the recreational boating agenda into the next decade. We are bringing together leaders from around the world in the streams of marinas, boating safety and recreational boating to deliver a program benefiting both the marine industry business sector and government agencies that are involved in recreational boating.&amp;rdquo;
Transport for NSW is the principal partner for the conference. Howard Glenn, from Transport&amp;rsquo;s Office of Boating Safety &amp;amp; Maritime Affairs, said the conference would provide an ideal opportunity to deal with a range of topical safety issues from skipper responsibility to lifejackets.
&amp;ldquo;The value of sharing information and ideas cannot be underestimated, especially if it means helping to make boating safer and more enjoyable,&amp;rdquo; Mr Glenn said.
President of the Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA) Andrew Chapman said he has been buoyed by the extent of very positive industry feedback supporting this landmark event. &amp;ldquo;The creation of Marine13 is a reflection of the growing cooperation
and maturity of the marine sector in Australia. As with many industry sectors competing for the discretionary dollar, we need to cooperate to compete effectively in an increasingly global market. Attendance at Marine13 is a must for anyone serious about growing their business or involvement in the marine sector&amp;rdquo;.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;
Marine13 is scheduled to be held at the Sydney Convention and Entertainment Centre from 28 to 30 April 2013.

    <title>2012 GOLD COAST INTERNATIONAL MARINE EXPO ACHIEVES STRONG EXHIBITOR INTEREST</title>
    <description>Preparations for the second 2012 Gold Coast International Marine Expo are well underway as exhibitors begin to show strong interest in the Expo, which will be held on November 2, 3 and 4.
The Expo is a partnership between Gold Coast City Marina, Riviera and Telwater, who help stage this annual not-for-profit community and family focused event, which will once again take visitors behind the scenes of the marine industry with hundreds of exhibits from the world&amp;rsquo;s best boating brands displayed over a 2.5 kilometre display circuit.
The brainchild of Queensland&amp;rsquo;s boating industry leaders, the Gold Coast International Marine Expo is expected to be bigger and better than the inaugural event, which last year brought almost 16,000 people through the gates over the three day event.
Gold Coast International Marine Expo spokesman Stephen Milne said the word &amp;lsquo;international&amp;rsquo; had been added to the title this year to reflect the international brands that would be exhibited at the Expo.
&amp;ldquo;It will also demonstrate that it is not just a regional show but also an international show attracting exhibitors and visitors from around Australia and the world,&amp;rdquo; Mr Milne said.
&amp;ldquo;Based on feedback from last year, the show layout has been re-designed to optimise the full 36 hectares of waterfront property of Riviera and Gold Coast City Marina, and to accommodate a greater number of exhibitors based on the overwhelmingly strong level of enquiries we have received so far.
&amp;ldquo;The Expo will continue to be free entry to the public, however we do ask for a $2 donation which will go directly to the Rotary Club of Coomera River, Sailability, Paradise Kids, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.&amp;nbsp; Our philosophy of showcasing the joys of the boating life to a wide cross-section of the general public for an admission free Expo will continue.
&amp;ldquo;In its first year, the Gold Coast International Marine Expo attracted 15, 796 visitors and we believe that this, our second year, could be the third largest boat show in Australia based on attendance level, which is an enormous achievement for such a young and innovative event.
&amp;ldquo;We believe it is the community spirit of Queensland&amp;rsquo;s boating industry leaders that has made this event so successful with all profits going directly back to the community.&amp;rdquo;
Mr Milne said this year&amp;rsquo;s event will still include the Artists&amp;rsquo; Quarter, a further fundraiser for local charities, live boat building demonstrations, factory tours, Kids Club, many new attractions and interactive displays for 2012, international food and beverage stalls, live entertainment and more.
&amp;ldquo;Even though the Expo is still eight months away, we are beginning to receive strong exhibitor interest and I encourage exhibitors to secure their bookings early to ensure they receive their desired display location and size.
&amp;ldquo;Given the early demand for increased display sizes from last year&amp;rsquo;s exhibitors, we have extended considerably our volume of display space.&amp;nbsp; This is one of the great attributes of our facilities here at Coomera, we can literally double or triple our displays if required.
&amp;ldquo;We will offer our 2011 founding exhibitors the first right of refusal of their same position and

display space as a mark of thanks for their belief and support in our &amp;lsquo;dream&amp;rsquo; last year.&amp;rdquo;
Organisers of the inaugural Gold Coast International Marine Expo are calling on all exhibitors to contact Emma Milne at emilne@gcmarineexpo.com.au to secure their displays.
The second annual Gold Coast International Marine Expo will be held on November 2, 3 and 4 and will be open to the public free of charge from 9am to 5pm over the three action-packed days. To find out more visit www.gcmarineexpo.com.au

    <title>MULTIHULL CENTRAL'S NEW SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE FOR QLD</title>
    <description>Multihull Central is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Service Representative, Craig Humphries, to provide expert repair and maintenance services for multihulls located in South East Queensland region.&amp;nbsp; Craig is a great addition to the service team already provided at Multihull Central&amp;rsquo;s Sydney Harbour marina headquarters, by extending services into Brisbane and South East Queensland.
Craig has had over 20 years experience in yacht maintenance after his career started by maintaining a 65ft catamaran doing day sails and evening cruises in the Caribbean, following a strict maintenance schedule to ensure the boat was kept at 5 star Hyatt standards. Craig eventually moved to Airlie Beach where he provided maintenance on charter boats plus major refits on the Maxi yachts operating sailing charters in the area.
Craig has also worked in the Mediterranean, USA and UK by gradually working his way up onto increasingly larger boats, from Robertson and Caine 4500s to Richard Branson&amp;rsquo;s 108ft catamaran Necker Belle.&amp;nbsp; This generally entailed full time maintenance, charters and owner trips, and many miles of sailing alongside his wife, Jo.
Craig&amp;rsquo;s extensive sailing experience includes several Trans-Atlantic crossings on yachts, and in multihulls he started by sailing a Prescott 8.5 catamaran &amp;lsquo;Hot Vindaloo' around 15 years ago during a Multihull regatta at which point he became, &amp;ldquo;completely hooked on the multis after that&amp;rdquo;.&amp;nbsp; He immediately bought a Farrier trimaran and also became involved in the Nacra 5.8 scene for a while.&amp;nbsp; Recently, he has been fortunate enough to have been invited to sail on a Raider 302 in local events.
Craig is a certificated IIMS Marine Surveyor, and is furthering these studies at present.
Multihull Central is pleased to have Craig as part of the Queensland team which includes another three sales representatives based in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Airlie Beach. He will be a valuable resource to multihull owners in South East Queensland, with the ability to provide basic repair or extensive refits. Craig is available as a mobile service agent with his base at Boat Works in Coomera on the Gold Coast.
