To align with this year’s conference theme of “STAYING RELEVANT IN TODAYS GLOBAL BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT”, AIMEX has added to the already impressive line-up of speakers.

These speakers include some of the most respected within the industry and will add to the hype of the conference due to the calibre of information expected.

The Economic Impact Research into the Australian Superyacht Industry will be launched at ASMEX 2017. Ashley Page, CEO at AEC Group will be presenting the long-awaited Independent Economic Impact Study which quantifies the value of the Australian Superyacht Industry, in its entirety. This study has been funded with the support of the Queensland Government and is deemed to be the most significant piece of research ever conducted within the industry.

Austrade Chief Economist Mark Thirlwell will discuss how the economic, political and technological changes taking place today are reshaping the global economy including specific reference to the direct impact and relevance on Australia.

Sarah Anghel from Canada’s National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), will be giving an overview of the Canadian recreational marine industry, providing insight into the Canadian marine market, a topic new to ASMEX.

Ian Nuttall Managing Director at Tides Marine UK will provide delegates with the opportunity to understand the UK and European distribution model. Ian will give an overview of the market from the perspective of what opportunities lie in this region, the pros and cons of various distribution models and give insight to what Tides Marine look for when taking on a new brand.

Louise Harrison; Director of Sales and Marketing at Triton Submarines is a former yacht refit and Technical Project Manager.  In a rapidly changing marketplace being driven by more adventurous owners and expedition yachting, Louise will open a dialog about submersible integration, safety, world-wide operations and the undersea experience that is now finally opening up to superyacht owners.

On another note, Northrop & Johnson Sales Broker Kevin Merrigan who is already confirmed as a speaker for the conference has just been named International Broker of the Year, a prestigious award issued by the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA). IYBA (formerly FYBA, Florida Yacht Brokers Association) is the largest association of yacht brokers worldwide and the award is to acknowledge a sales broker for his or her ‘outstanding dedication and contribution to IYBA and the entire yachting industry’. ASMEX are proud to be hosting Kevin Merrigan at this event and look forward to the wealth of knowledge he is expected to deliver.

This year, the much anticipated conference will be held on the 22nd till the 24th of May at the Intercontinental Hotel at Sanctuary Cove and includes a welcome function, the prestigious Australian Marine Industry Awards and the highly valuable networking event; conference Gala dinner.
