The Marina Industry Association (MIA) has further expanded the number of categories in its industry awards that are conducted every two years. As well as the previously announced 12 award categories there are now additional categories for ‘best marina boat yard’ and ‘best marina boat broker’. The Marina award winners and finalists will be announced as part of Marine13, the International Conference and Exhibition being held 28-30 April 2013 in Sydney.

MIA President Andrew Chapman said these additional two marina awards recognise and acknowledge the important roles played by boat yards and boat brokers at many marinas. “Boat repair and maintenance and boat sales services are a major reason marinas are the boating centre for many communities. These two additional awards provide these businesses with the recognition they deserve and the opportunity to be acknowledged at an international conference and promoted as ‘best in class’ for the next two years.”

The MIA entry fee is AU$150 for entry into the awards and entry is open for a limited period.  For full details of the awards visit the MIA web site www.marinas.net.au
