With the closing date for the prestigious 2017 Australian Marine Industry Awards fast approaching, it is sparking a high level of interest among the marine industry and based on applications received so far AIMEX anticipates a high calibre of applications from a broad range of companies large and small.

AIMEX organises the annual Awards providing a significant platform in which well deserved recognition is given to Australia’s marine export, superyacht and commercial marine industry achievers. The awards are presented at the annual Awards Gala Dinner on the 23rd May 2017 in MacArthur’s ballroom at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, immediately prior to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

Wes Moxey, Chief Executive Officer at Riviera, described winning Marine Industry Exporter of the Year two years in a row as a ‘reflection of their team’s tireless efforts and reflecting their global position in the luxury motor yacht market. The prestigious honour helps them tell the Riviera global story’.

The 2017 judging panel will meet in Sanctuary Cove on Tuesday 11th April 2017 to judge the applications and decide on the 2017 winners. The panel participants include industry identities; Ken Evans (Chair Judge) – Marine Consultant; Barry Jenkins – Government, Industry and International Relations, Mulpha Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show; John Zammit – Founder and Publisher, Shipmate Marine Directory; Joe Akacich – Managing Director, Blackpond Marine Consultants Pty Ltd; Deo Chand – Trade Adviser, Advanced Manufacturing Trade Services, Austrade; Steve Mitchell – Naval Architect/ Marine Consultant.
