Apart from keeping our distance and stocking up on as much Gelair hand sanitiser that we could get (when it wasn’t being bought in bulk by you), we have been busy, so thank-you!

Here’s our month at a glance:

  • Stellair Chilled Water Plant upgrade on MY/Suri.
  • Stella’s in-house design engineer has created a fully customised Hydraulic Swim Platform for an Ocean Alexander 78.
  • The Pobeda refit project has come to an end. Take a look at the new ABT-TRAC Zero Speed Stabilisers we installed (see Pobeda refit).
  • Stella Water Makers are being sent to the South Pacific in response to Tropical Cyclone Harold.

We installed an A Frame, deck winch and hydraulic power pack onto a research vessel (See Pangea A-frame project).

Chilled Water Plant Upgrade

Stellair have just completed a Chilled Water Plant upgrade to the 63 meter M/Y Suri. This custom built 30 tonne (360,000 BTU) Chilled Water Plant was designed to give the vessel full redundancy from the three independent chillers down to dual sea water and chilled water pumps.

No matter what your size requirements are, we can customise a chilled water plant to suit your vessel.

Ocean Alexander – Hydraulic Swim Platform Project

Stella’s in-house design engineer has customised a Hydraulic Swim Platform for an Ocean Alexander 78.

Our Hydraulic Swim Platforms are the ideal way to add more real estate to your boat, providing easy loading and unloading of tenders and jets skis, and a great way to access swimming without having to climb up flimsy swim ladders.

Stella Swim platforms are very unique. The lifter arms themselves feature a patented hydraulic system that ensures an even lift every time, and a patented locking system to mechanically lock the platform in every single position up and down.

If you want reliability and control of your future swim platform then give us a call. We’ll work with you to design a platform that your whole family will surely enjoy.

Pobeda 1 – Refit Project

Pobeda is a Dutch Built Linden Kotter 65 that has undergone an extensive refit at the Boatworks. Stella was delighted to provide the engineering services throughout the refit and worked very closely with the owner to ensure the best possible outcome in all areas. The vessel went through a full engine room fit out with Rebuilt Engines, New Generator, Hydraulics, Air Conditioning, Heating, Water and Fuel Systems.

Stella also installed a brand New ABT-TRAC Zero Speed Stabiliser system to ensure the owner has smooth sailing no matter the conditions (pictured below). ABT-Trac are world leaders in Stabilization systems, consistently chosen as the product of choice by the world largest custom and production boat builders.

Pobeda also chose to install Planus Toilets and a 240 Litre per hour Stella water maker to supply the vessels water needs.

A huge thanks to Andrey and Kosta for choosing Stella to be a part of this incredible project.

Water maker’s are ready to help the South Pacific

In response to Tropical Cyclone Harold – the storm that devastated the the South Pacific in early April – Stella made eight land based water makers, all of which are being sent to Vanuatu this week.

Stella reacted to the drinking water problem by providing affordable desalination plants to the small island communities affected, who will now be self-reliant in making fresh drinkable water now and forever.

Want to transform the unusable salt or bore water around you into drinkable fresh water?

Call us and we’ll help you decide on the water maker that best fits your needs. Land based and Marine Water Makers available.

Pangea A Frame Project

A philanthropist concerned with the health of the ocean has donated use of his vessel to facilitate further marine scientific research, and Stella had the pleasure of assisting in making her deep sea ready.

Pictured to the left, you can see the install of a new A-frame that will be used to launch and retrieve scientific equipment. A large deck winch was mounted on the deck above, and a new S/S Fairlead was fabricated and welded into the bulwark for the Kevlar rope retrieval system. The hydraulic power pack is neatly tucked away in the deck locker hidden from view.

It is an absolute pleasure to be involved with projects that contribute to the health of our oceans, projects like this make it all worthwhile.
