Club Marine, Australia’s largest provider of recreational boating insurance, is delighted to announce Club Marine Magazine’s position as Australasia’s leading marine lifestyle magazine has been overwhelmingly endorsed with the recent Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) result confirming a circulation increase to an unprecedented 91,495* subscribers for the period from January to June, 2013.

This is an increase of 1681 subscribers from the previous period (89,814 for July to December, 2012), representing a two per cent increase overall. It is also Club Marine’s highest-ever circulation figure.

“It is a great result for us in such difficult times in the print publishing industry,” said Club Marine Managing Editor, Chris Beattie. “We have worked hard to consolidate and build on our circulation growth and the latest ABC figures confirm that Club Marine Magazine has solidly anchored its position as one of Australasia’s favourite magazines.”

The ABC audit result is a firm endorsement from readers that they continue to value and enjoy reading Club Marine Magazine. Beattie said it also underlined the title’s strategy to promote and foster the Australasian marine lifestyle, which is seen as a great family-friendly outdoor pursuit.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to clarify a common misunderstanding that the magazine is automatically mailed out to all our policy holders. In fact, all of our subscribers choose to pay an additional subscription fee over and above their insurance premium,” explained Beattie, adding: “Almost universally, we are observing a decline in circulation rates for print publications. In this environment, it’s great to be able to release this fantastic circulation figure,” he said.

In comparison, audit figures for other marine titles over the same period are: Trade-A-Boat – 12,323 (down 1,154); Trailerboat – 8,389 (down 1,211) and Modern Fishing – 11,934 (down 2,093).

Club Marine Magazine is a quality bi-monthly magazine published by Club Marine Insurance Pty Ltd, Australia’s largest provider of recreational boating insurance. The magazine has a broad appeal well beyond its core marine audience, with a hugely popular Gourmet section appealing to foodies, while other regular features include marine lifestyle, destination and environmental features.
