Steber International’s success in exporting to the United Arab Emirates has been highlighted during
a conference targeting businesses interested in entering the UAE market.

The well attended conference was organised by the Export Council of Australia in conjunction with
the NSW Government.

General Manager, Alan Steber presented one of four successful case studies, which covered such
diverse fields as healthcare projects, meat export, freight and logistics and boat manufacture and
export.

” We were happy to pass on our experiences of exporting to the UAE which have included four
vessels, ranging in size from 38 to 52 ftrs, Alan said.

“We have also had success in neighbouring Arab states and are currently in the process of tendering
for a number of government and semi-government contracts”.

Alan’s 45 years in the marine industry, and the contacts made over that time, has been a cornerstone
of the company’s export successes.

He is also a founding member and current board member of the NSW Boating Industry Association
(BIA); board member and export champion of the Australian International Marine Export Group
(AIMEX) and chairman of the Manufacturers Group of the NSW BIA, just to name a few.

Alan concluded his presentation with: “never negotiate out of fear; never fear to negotiate. The
Arabs are lovely people, be honest and supportive”.
