The ICOMIA Marinas Group and the Holland Marine Industry Association are hosting the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference 17 – 19 November 2016 in Amsterdam. The theme is ‘The Future of Marinas in a Changing World’. Over 40 presenters including five from the Asia Pacific region will present their views and case studies. Keynote speaker Adjiedj Bakas will share his distinct and somewhat provocative vision on the world and future developments.

MIA Executive Officer and MIA representative on the ICOMIA Marinas Group Colin Bransgrove believes conference participation will be a good investment. “While the event is a long way from our part of the world, the Marinas Group has worked hard to come up with a program that will help marina owners and senior managers to take useful business ideas back to their businesses. There is the added value of the conference immediately following on from METSTRADE: the biggest B to B marine industries exhibition on the globe.”

Marina Conference plenary session topics include the state of the global marina industry, new opportunities in emerging markets, different approaches to marina management and uniting public and private sectors. Breakout sessions include new ideas in marina development; innovative solutions in marina operations, marketing and customer care; the diversity of regulations and legislation related to marinas and boating, financing, and environmental legislation.

On day three of the conference the marina tour will visit some of the best Dutch marinas in the Northern part of Holland, including Marina Volendam, Marina Enkhuizen and Marina Muiderzand.

MIA Vice Chairman Darren Vaux is presenting at the conference. He has attended the last two World Marina Conferences and says attendance is very worthwhile. “The rate of change in technology, business practice and government regulation continues to accelerate.  The World Marinas Conference brings together leaders in marina industry from around the world. I have found that the knowledge, contacts and insights that flow from the conference are invaluable for our business.”

The conference will take place at the RAI Amsterdam adjacent to the METSTRADE Show (15 – 17 November) and offers a complete week of marina and yard content. See www.world-marinas-conference.com for more detailed programme information.
