Christmas has come early for an excited group of owners, partners and family, brought together at Riviera’s state-of-the-art facility on Australia’s Gold Coast to celebrate the private launch of Riviera’s much anticipated 5600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition.
Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst welcomed guests, some of whom had flown halfway around the world to attend the evening, travelling from Canada, the Americas, New Zealand and around Australia.
With a powerful and emotive saxophonist on the bow fan faring the arrival of the new Sport Yacht – Hull No.1 made a high energy entrance amid spotlights and a fireworks spectacular on the water, performing an effortless rotation before docking at the Riviera Yacht Club, a private waterfront owners’ venue.
Guests were invited aboard to experience for the first time this magnificent new luxury motor yacht. An evening of celebration followed with a dinner in the Yacht Club for Riviera’s new 5600 family, those eagerly awaiting future delivery of their very own 5600 Sport Yacht.
Speaking at the private World Premiere, Rodney Longhurst praised his Riviera team of over 900 and was obviously very proud of their latest creation. “Riviera’s 5600 Sport Yacht sets a new benchmark across every measure for a luxury motor yacht under 60 foot. New levels of space, comfort, liveability and luxury appointments. New levels of engineering excellence, blue-water capability and fuel-efficient performance,” he said.
“Drawing on Riviera’s leading-edge boat building skills and the knowledge gained over 45 years launching over 6,200 handcrafted luxury motor yachts, the brief to our design team was to create the best mid 50-foot Sports Yacht. The result is spectacular!”

Welcome Aboard
There’s no mistaking the handcrafted quality of Riviera as you step easily aboard the beautiful teak-laid boarding platform. Equally impressive, are the teak-laid steps either side of the tender garage leading up to the aft deck.
Hydraulic Swim Platform with Steps
The boarding platform is engineered as a hydraulic swim platform that can be lowered or raised, effectively creating a private beach; perfect for children, watercraft, or just a fantastic way to cool down on a hot summer’s day.
An innovative feature of the swim platform on the 5600 are the folding steps that deploy as the platform lowers.
Easy Tender Launch and Retrieval
The swim platform steps, together with a redesigned tender garage floor, electric winch and removable rail system, all combine to facilitate the gentle launch and retrieval of a 3.3 metre RIB with outboard attached.
Handy Storage for Water Sports
In addition to the tender, the garage is designed to securely stow a stand-up paddleboard, two Sea Bobs, dive bottles and various other water sports equipment including fishing, diving and snorkelling gear.
Allure of the Aft Deck
With the choice of a short or long hardtop, the aft deck is the alfresco dining and entertaining centre of the 5600 Sport Yacht. A plush lounge extends across the width of the aft deck; always a popular spot whilst underway or at anchor.
Forward to starboard is a very generous L-shaped lounge dining area with a handcrafted, folding timber table that comfortably seats up to eight by adding occasional chairs or ottomans.
The aft deck on the 5600 Sport Yacht boasts a very capable alfresco entertainer’s galley complete with side-by-side barbecue grill and hotplate, extractor fan, stainless-steel drawer fridge, an icemaker and a wet bar with a solid surface benchtop, sink, mixer and bin.
An electric blind on the long hardtop lowers to the transom at the press of a button to shield the afternoon sun and, together with tinted glass quarter panels, adds more privacy and weather protection.
For those important moments that must be seen and shared live, an LED Smart TV lowers into place at the push of a button.
And to take full advantage of magic moments shared on the aft deck, an impressive electric sunroof glides open to invite fresh air, the warmth of the sun or the sparkle of the stars.
Wing Doors
Wing doors are a necessity in many of the world’s finest waterways, providing easy, direct access to raised, fixed jetties. There are three wing door options on the 5600 Sport Yacht; port, starboard or both.
Optimising Space
As well as handy under-seat storage, lift-up cushions on the aft deck lounge provide easy access to an insulated icebox and a removeable panel to inspect the tender garage. Very helpful if you’re not sure where you left your cap and sunglasses. Additional storage is located under the seat cushions of the L-shaped dining lounge.
Gourmet Galley
Slide open the saloon door and open the awning window; both are engineered for great strength from tinted toughened glass and framed in polished stainless steel. Now the aft deck flows into the saloon creating one grand living and entertaining space.
First impressions of the U-shaped galley suggest cuisine without compromise; this is an inspiring space, superbly equipped with premium appliances beautifully integrated into handcrafted timber joinery.
Thoughtful features include a three-element induction cooktop with removable potholders, a combination oven/microwave, solid surface waterfall benchtops, ample storage, pantry, rangehood and a dishwasher.
Extended time aboard demands appropriate refrigeration which is why the galley is served by a full-height refrigerator with two refrigerator/freezer drawer units below, each programmable as either a fridge or freezer.
Alongside is an elegant bar/serving station with a wine cooler and drinks cabinet for bottles and glassware.
Add the option of a third refrigerator/freezer drawer unit in the galley or in the companionway of the accommodation deck
Spacious Saloon
An expansive, luxurious retreat, the saloon is the social heart of the 5600 Sport Yacht. And with two fixed swivel stools facing the galley, the breakfast bar always attracts company and conversation.
To port is an L-shaped dining lounge with an innovative solid timber table that easily folds back into the lounge when not required.
Lower the window blinds and now the saloon becomes a cinema room with premium sound system and a large LED TV rising at the press of a button.
Moving forward, Riviera’s design team have found ample space for another relaxing L-shaped lounge opposite the helm; perfect for taking in the view and keeping the skipper company whilst underway.
Extra-Large Side Windows and an Electric Sunroof
The saloon of the 5600 Sport Yacht is designed to take full advantage of a cool breeze at anchor with extra-large sliding side windows and an impressive electric sunroof. And if the weather isn’t ideal, you can always rely on the comfort of reverse-cycle air-conditioning.
Entertaining Forward Deck
Perfect for a long lunch or sunset drinks, the superbly appointed forward deck makes another excellent relaxation and entertaining area.
The C-shaped lounge and table setting is complemented by two large sunbeds with adjustable backrests.
A large locker portside is designed for fenders and ropes whilst the starboard locker serves as an insulated icebox for refreshments. Waterproof stereo speakers set the mood, and when it’s time to weigh anchor the teak-trimmed pedestal table and euro awning are easily stowed, keeping everything shipshape.
Commanding Helm
The helm of the 5600 Sport Yacht is state-of-the-art, featuring touch-screen navigation and operation technology all designed to make your boating even easier and more pleasurable. Total control is at your fingertips and visibility is outstanding through the engineered curved glass windscreen. Captain and companion chairs are fully adjustable, extremely comfortable and supportive with the added luxury of hand-stitched leather.
And while the Captain’s chair is fixed, the companion chair swivels 180 degrees adding extra seating to the saloon at anchor.
Fingertip Control
There are two joystick controls on the 5600 Sport Yacht; one at the helm and one portside on the aft deck. Each joystick gives the skipper control over low speed manoeuvring and docking. There is also the option of starboard or dual aft deck controls.
Three Staterooms, Two Bathrooms
Every detail throughout the accommodation deck has been carefully considered. Premium fabrics, furnishings and textures form a clean, modern palette; with the reflective finish of handcrafted cabinetry complemented by the warmth of exotic timbers. Superb Master Stateroom
The full-beam master stateroom is spacious, stylish and luxurious. Tinted hull windows and opening ports welcome an abundance of soft natural light and fresh air to the master with its queen-size walk-around island bed and soft, plush carpeting underfoot.
Unpacking is easy with ‘his’ and ‘hers’ cedar-lined hanging lockers to starboard and a third hanging locker opposite complete with shoe shelves. There’s ample drawer storage and a clothing hamper in the handcrafted cabinetry.
Under-bed storage takes care of soft luggage and extra linen. Other luxuries include reverse-cycle air-conditioning, designer headboard, bedside tables, a flush-mounted large LED Smart TV with soundbar and the option of a safe for valuables.

The starboard chaise lounge is an elegant choice however there are other options to match your boating lifestyle including a timber drawer set or a seated writing bureau with leatherette inlay and a lift-up make-up mirror.

A beautiful bathroom with space and style. Luxury appointments include a solid surface benchtop with integrated basin, a sizeable shower with a teak seat and frameless glass door, extractor fan, reverse cycle air-conditioning and a tinted hull window with opening porthole.
Superb VIP Stateroom
Pamper your guests in the forward VIP stateroom. There’s a sense of space and a mood of pure luxury with contemporary design, premium furnishings and the glow of natural light through tinted hull windows.
This splendid retreat includes an ensuite bathroom, queen-size walk-around island bed with designer headboard, reverse-cycle air-conditioning and the gleam of high-quality finishes. Storage is generous with two cedar-lined hanging lockers, under-bed drawers and overhead lockers. A flush-mounted LED Smart TV with soundbar is standing by, waiting to entertain.
Two Staterooms in One
The port guest stateroom can be two single beds or one double at the touch of a button. Flexible and practical, the inboard single berth slides smoothly across to form a restful double. Generous storage is a feature of the port stateroom with hanging and shelf lockers, bedside and portside cabinets each with drawers, as well as more space overhead and under-bed.
Comforts include reverse-cycle air conditioning, premium carpet and a private entry door. A flush mounted LED Smart TV is an entertainment option whilst the large, tinted hull window with an opening porthole adds to the ambiance.
Guests share the ensuite bathroom of the VIP stateroom via the day-head entry with privacy locks.
Love the Laundry
A very practical laundry station is located in the wide companionway of the accommodation deck. Thoughtfully designed and beautifully crafted, the laundry features a separate washer and dryer, generous bench space for sorting and folding, ample storage, a hanging locker and natural light from the large, tinted hull window.

The 5600 features a high-resolution integrated camera system providing the skipper with single glance control through live vision of the bow anchor, aft deck, engine room and swim platform, displayed through helm navigation screens.

Riviera’s 5600 Sport Yacht is powered by twin Volvo Penta D11 IPS 950s rated at 725hp (533 kW) delivering exceptional power-to-weight performance with impressive fuel economy.
Access to the full-height engine room is quick and easy via the stern. An entry door built into the top section of the starboard steps lifts vertically on struts. A second engine room entrance is through a lockable hatch located on the aft deck.
